Assignment Background
Our search for a Head of Legal required a candidate with deep expertise in digital assets and rapidly evolving regulatory frameworks. Our client, a digital assets brokerage was looking for an exceptional legal professional who has since strengthened our compliance, risk management, and corporate governance, ensuring the firm remains ahead of industry developments and was in a position to apply for regulatory bodies licences.
The Search
Our headhunting process focused on identifying senior professionals from traditional finance brokerages with a strong track record of engaging with regulators and contributing to board-level discussions. After conducting in-depth interviews with eight highly qualified candidates, we shortlisted three who demonstrated the right blend of regulatory expertise, strategic insight, and leadership capabilities.
Negotiating and Closing
We facilitated comprehensive negotiations that went beyond salary, ensuring alignment on the long-term vision for team expansion and the necessary budget to support growth. Following this, our headhunting team conducted two additional searches, successfully identifying a lawyer with hedge fund experience who understood financial markets, as well as a specialist with deep expertise in the digital assets sector to strengthen the legal team further.
